Brandberg is renowned as one of the premier localities for collectible Quartz worldwide, particularly notable in Africa. This region’s Quartz is often found either in basalt vugs or as isolated single crystals. The most common colors are Amethyst and Smokey, with intriguing combinations of both hues frequently seen.

Quartz clusters from Brandberg are typically found alongside Calcite, Epidote, Prehnite, Stilbite, and other unique regional minerals. These clusters form within basalt vugs created by volcanic activity and are extracted on a small scale by various miners across a broad area.

Classic Brandberg Quartz specimens sometimes feature Lepidocrocite inclusions, which can appear as either specular or needle-like. The exceptional quality and distinct characteristics of Brandberg Quartz have made it highly sought after by collectors over the past few decades.
